Here is a quick preview of a wedding I shot a few weeks ago at the Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada, Florida Keys. This was the ideal place to get married and shoot, if your a Florida wedding photographer. I love vintage style photography, so I have been playing around with this new style including bokeh texture. I was heavily inspired by the work of Tomasz Opasinski. Once I put the watermark on this shot it turned it into a vintage movie poster. Two things I can take away from this wedding – Joe & Nicole were the kindest people and they had the world’s largest shrimp at their reception.

On May 22, 2010 I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding for Adriana and Alberto in Miami, Florida. Their family and friends were so nice and the wedding couldn’t have gone any better. I ended up trying out a few new lenses from Borrow Lenses, which is this website that allows you to rent camera equipment. It’s a great idea if your interested in trying out a new lens or just in need of renting equipment for a photo shoot. For this Florida wedding I tried out the 50mm 1.4 and the 100mm 2.8 Macro. I fell in love with the 50mm 1.4 – Even though it wasn’t an L Series, it was a great lens for such a good price. The ceremony was held at a small beautiful church called Coral Gables Congregational in Miami, Florida. The surrounding area was a great location for engagement photography, I really wish we had more time. If your a South Florida Wedding Photographer , I highly recommend this place! Thank you Adriana and Alberto for the opportunity to shoot your wedding day experience!

Alright, so on May 8th some good friends of mine got married. Originally I gave you a sneak peak with the groom with his brothers. So here we are, a whole month later recapping a few of my favorite shots and memories. For some reason all of the wedding pictures I chose for this blog post were very serious looking. Trust me, there were lots of laughs and excitement at this wedding. Probably my favorite memory from the trip was when the new Canon 16-35mm lens broke. Ahhhhhh!!! I won’t say who dropped it – because I love her too much! Besides the lens and getting lost a few times in Miami and almost starving to death – It was really a great experience! Seeing God bring this couple together was so awesome and encouraging to everyone who had a part in their lives! So congratulations David & Melinda on your special wedding day.

This past Saturday the wedding was in Coral Gables, Miami. The photos came out great and I really can’t wait to show you them once there all ready. Congratulations Adriana and Alberto, you guys were so sweet! BTW thanks for treating us like royalty at the reception. Bueno!

This past March I did some wedding photography in Melbourne, Florida for some close friends of mine. I haven’t seen them since college, so it was really good to catch up. Charity and her family live down here in South FL, so it was pretty convenient to just drive up to Melbourne for the day. Most of the candid photography we did was taken after the wedding. They were a pretty chill couple but regardless I recommend doing most portrait or candid style photography after the wedding is all said and done.
Just wanted to give a special shout out to the Totally Rad Photoshop Actions that were used in the post processing of these photos. I am getting a little more familiar with how they work and I must say, they have really changed the way I edit photos. Thank guys – You rock!
